No booking fees on any BoothZen plan
A £450 wedding and a £120 birthday cost you the same to run through BoothZen. You pay for your plan and whatever your own card provider charges, and nothing else.

Booking fees
What a booking fee is
Most booking software for event businesses takes the customer's card payment through its own account and keeps a percentage. Check Cherry publishes 2.9% plus 30c per card transaction and HoneyBook publishes 2.7% plus 10c, both read from their pricing pages on 2026-09-18. It is the card processing rate and it is published, so it is not hidden. But the software charges it, at the software's rate, on money that is yours. You cannot move to a cheaper provider or negotiate it down as you get busier, and it applies to every deposit and every balance for as long as you stay.
BoothZen does not sit between you and the payment. Your deposits and balances go through your own Stripe, PayPal or bank details, straight into your account, on whatever rate you have agreed with your provider. We never hold the money, so there is nothing for us to take a percentage of.
Worked example
The fees on a £450 booking
Take a £450 booking with a £100 deposit, so £450 through the card in two payments.
On a platform charging 2.9% + 30c per transaction
(Check Cherry's published rate, checked 2026-09-18): the percentage on £450 is £13.05, plus the fixed part on each of the two payments. That is a little over £13 from one booking, at a rate your software sets.
On a platform charging 2.7% + 10c per transaction
(HoneyBook's published rate, checked 2026-09-18): £12.15 plus the fixed part, again on two payments.
On BoothZen
£0 from us. You pay for your plan, and whatever Stripe or PayPal charges you directly.
Over twenty bookings at that value in a season, the difference pays for the plan several times over. You still pay for card processing on BoothZen, to your own provider. The rate is one you agreed, you can improve it by changing provider, and it does not rise with your average booking value because another company set the percentage.

Paid plans come with a 14-day trial. If you are coming from Check Cherry, HoneyBook, BoothBook or Dubsado, the trial is 30 days, because moving bookings that are already live takes longer. It is also in the terms and on the FAQ page.
