BoothZen began the night the founder double-booked his best mirror booth for two weddings on the same Saturday. The realization hit at 2am, surrounded by 47 browser tabs, four spreadsheets, and a paper calendar. The next morning he started building the platform he had been searching for and could never find.
We’re not a generic CRM that bolted on event bookings as an afterthought. Every screen, every default, every automation was shaped by booths actually being set up at venues from coast to coast — not by a product manager who’s never lifted a flight case.
Today BoothZen helps US operators replace spreadsheets, group chats, second-hand contract templates, and late-night admin sessions with a single calm system that handles availability, quotes, contracts, payments, and customer comms automatically.

He tried everything. BoothBook was clunky and hadn't been updated in years. HoneyBook was pretty but built for photographers, not booth operators — no concept of equipment, no unit availability, no booth-type management. Check Cherry was closer but charged per-transaction fees that ate into margins and capped bookings on their entry plan.
Nothing understood the photo booth workflow: quote, confirm, assign booth & staff, collect deposit, send contract, collect balance, generate job sheet, run event, follow up. Every platform forced operators to hack together workarounds for a business model none of them actually understood.

Lee taught himself to code. Nights and weekends, between events. He learned Laravel, React, and built the first version in his living room. It was ugly, but it worked. No more double bookings. No more missed deposits. No more 2am spreadsheet panic.
Friends in the industry started asking to use it. Then friends of friends. Then strangers on Facebook groups. The demand was real — booth operators everywhere were drowning in the same admin chaos, and nobody was building the tool they actually needed.

In 2025, Lee rebuilt the platform from scratch — this time with AI, modern design, and 10+ years of operator knowledge baked into every feature. BoothZen isn't a generic CRM with booth features bolted on. It's the platform Lee wished existed when he was loading a mirror booth into a van at 6am.
